A sleep cut short for the big cat
A sleeping leopard wakes up abruptly and observes a sambhar deer which sounded off an alarm call on seeing it. This beautiful young leopard was relaxing on a fallen tree and we hadn’t even noticed it. That was until a sambhar peacefully grazing nearby suddenly gave an alarm call. A sambhar call is never to be mistaken and is a sign of a predator nearby. Sure enough, gazing towards the direction at which the sambhar was looking at, we sighted this spotted beauty right in front of us hardly few yards away. He was just as startled as we were on hearing the alarm call.
