A Vigilant Short Toed Snake Eagle
After testing the lens in the wetland, I wanted to try capturing the raptors in this huge area in the outskirts of my town. So, on a chilly morning of a Sunday me and my friend Vinit came to this particular location. We were not happy with the weather conditions as it was too foggy. After reaching there we saw some action going on in the sky above us. Few of the black kites were mobbing the lone Short Toed Snake Eagle and my friend was able to capture those shots with the actual expressions of the birds in flight. After capturing the other birds and we were looking for some other rare spotings when all of a sudden a Raptor came and perched itself on a Indian lilac(Neem) tree. This raptor was perched at quite distance from us. We covered the distance on foot and we took care to not disturb the raptor from our quick reflexes or movements. We stealthily reached this spot where we managed to take some good shots with different stills of the Short Toed Snake Eagle.
