Beauty of Himalayan Monal
The Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus), also known as the Impeyan monal, is a pheasant native to Himalayan forests and shrub-lands at elevations of 2,100–4,500m (6,900–14,800 ft). Like the other birds from the pheasant family, the male Monal birds are multicoloured than the female birds who are dull in colour. They are visible in across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the Himalayan Monals are also found in Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
I took this shot from the Monal point in Chopta region of Uttarakhand district. I love this composition and didn’t waste the time to capture this portrait.
