International Vulture Awareness Day
This photograph was taken at kaziranga National park( Central Range ). Kaziranga National Park was once home to seven species of vultures, out of which, only four have survived. These are Indian Vulture, Slender-billed vulture and Indian White-rumped Vulture.
Vulture also important our ecosystem . A major contributing factor in declining populations of vultures is believed to be widespread use of drugs such as diclofenac, once commonly used as a livestock anti-inflammatory drug. Usage of diclofenac is banned in India.
