Leucistic or Albino Baya Weaver (Male) in breeding plumage
One of the reasons of being different is to be flawed. Whether to be flawed is about being different.
One such interesting and rarest encounters in wildlife I had this week while birding in Pune, Maharashtra when i came across this beautiful Leucistic or Albino Baya weaver (male) in full breeding plumage.
Leucism is a state of the reduction of skin pigments, due to which the specie lacks the colour producing cells and hence appears different.
Leucism in birds is overall rare and Leucistic birds show a variable amount of white or pale in the plumage.
