Very common bird, usually seen near ponds, but also can be seen in the fields too. This is “Indian Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii)”, photographed on the outskirts of Theni, during the month of December, 2016. You people remember the Shikra image I posted few days back? This was also taken during the same time. As I was waiting for the Shikra for a good pose, I saw this Pond heron in a few feet distance from the Shikra. I was in good position and so I clicked few frames of this common bird. There was also a Coucal lurking behind this heron, which I will post in coming days. ☺️
