Nature’s Perfect Predators- Praying Mantis
Praying Mantis is a large insect named because of its front legs, which are bent like the position of prayer. Forelegs are greatly enlarged and adapted for catching and gripping prey; their upright posture, has led to the common name praying mantis. Forelegs are significantly broadened and adjusted for getting and holding prey; their upstanding stance, has prompted the normal name praying mantis.
I love it’s attitude and clicked this photograph in a rainy season from Sherpagaon, Kalimpong, West Bengal.
