Nilgiri Langur in Southern Greens
Nilgiri Langur is a Vulnerable species of primates found only in the southern Western ghats.
The main reason for their declining numbers is Habitat destruction and poaching for it’s fur, which is considered aphrodisiac in nature.
The Western ghats of India are a world heritage site, declared by the UNESCO and they still hold unknown treasures of wildlife.
It is upon us to conserve this natural heritage to save species like the Nilgiri Langurs from extinction.
