Olive Ridley Sea Turtle
Olive ridley turtles had started arriving to lay their eggs and there were some of them pacing the beach . But there was this one individual that caught my attention, she was lying there in a load of trash mostly plastic. It didn’t seem dead but the whole contrast made me contemplate about what we put these animals through. While we come here to enjoy seeing them, we create a plastic trail, which makes way to sea and ends up either being thrown back into the beach or in their bodies.
They travel thousands of miles to lay their eggs here and we fail to provide them a decent location to hatch their next generation in. No doubt their population is diminishing. I personally believe we as individuals need to be more responsible for our actions, with individual awareness and regulated accountability only then we can achieve a world where olive ridleys can lay eggs in a plastic free beach
