Pheasant-Tailed Jacana
One of the beautiful birds seen on Wetlands of Chennai. The breeding plumage is marked by the elongated central tail feathers that given the bird its name.
I recently observed a large number of Hotspots where nesting grounds are located. Since last month it has been their breeding season and by this time eggs should be in a matured state.
Unfortunately, it is also observed that stray dogs are consuming their eggs and making their life tougher.
In a few weeks chicks are expected to see the world and hoping that new generation thrive in city lands.
