Red-necked Phalarope in breeding plumage
One of the most beautiful waders migrating to India. Love to see them swimming, spinning around and forming the little whirlpool.
Red-necked Phalaropes are polyandrous waders. They have been cited as the best example of polyandry for so long that they have become almost the classic example. Polyandry is a class of mating system where one female mates with several males in a breeding season.
