The Bengal Monitor
I went on a trip to Puri and Chilika lake with my parents last year. After reaching Chilika lake we wanted to go on a boat ride but it was too expensive which was not worth of spending so much money (it’s my personal opinion). So we decided to go on a walk along the lake, enjoying the breeze and do birding. After half an hour walk I encountered this fella lying on the grass. I did not carry my long lens as I was on a family trip. So I decided to approach this individual slowly and fortunately it was very cooperative to let me get in it’s personal space. I began to visualise the frame for wide angle landscape shot of the monitor lizard as I had only one lens to work with. It helped and I could produce some decent shots while spending quality time with this individual. I also got hit hard by it’s on my face when I tried to go too close due to enthusiasm. It was worth it, I had got my shots so I decided to push myself back let it enjoy it’s personal space.
