The eye of a raptor.

A male Shikra from the mangroves. Its name has been derived from Urdu and the Hindi word, ‘Shikari’, meaning hunter.
The older males are indicated by their piercing red eyes while the females have eye colour varying from deep-yellow to orange-yellow.
