Gharials, sometimes called gavials, are a type of Asian crocodilian distinguished by their long, thin snouts. Crocodilians are a group of reptiles that includes crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and more.
This long and thin snouted croc was just 2 metres away from me while I was busy photographing it. As I went nearer even this female croc was slowly moving towards me. It was then I realized, that it is not safe to move so much closer to such a predator that can jump up to 4-6 ft above water using its powerful tail muscles and webbed feet. Although these species have not been heard of attacking humans, but the way it sneaked up, I was very much in doubt.
