Uthaman’s Bush Frog – Raorchestes uthamani
This amazing looking frog is tinier than our thumb. It lives inside young bamboo reeds, only found at high altitudes of Southern Western Ghats. It is named after Forest officer K.V. Uthaman and bird photographer P.K. Uthaman , both eminent conservationists. This frog was discovered just 10 years ago.
Little is known about this species and it’s distribution.
Amazingly, for a tiny frog, it’s eyes are deep blue like an ocean. I just fell in love with them after witnessing this beauty in the wild!
